In cases where a minor parent lives with his/her parent(s), the income and needs of the senior parent(s) shall be considered.

 

  The minor parent is to have their aid payment calculated using existing income and computation rules.

 

  The senior parentís income must be counted when determining the eligibility and aid payment for the minor parentís assistance unit (AU).

 

Ineligible Minor

When the senior parentís income causes the minor parentís AU to be ineligible, the minor parentís case is denied/discontinued.All of the minor parentís income is considered available to the minor parentís AU.

When considering a senior parentís income results in the eligibility of the minor and the minor is either eligible to be included in his/her own AU or is eligible to be included in the senior parentís AU, the senior parentís income is considered and the AUís grant amount is:

 

   The lesser of the potential grant amount of the minor parentís AU MAP

 

       Plus any special needs for the minor parentís AU less any overpayment adjustment.

  Minor parent lives with both parents.The senior parents choose to be in the AU with the minor parent and the minorís child.
